Terms of Use

1. Closed beta

The Service is currently in closed beta. Access is by invitation only. By using the Service, you acknowledge you are using an early, pre-release version that is still under active development. Features may change or be removed without notice. Story data, profiles, and account data may be lost during the beta period due to updates or infrastructure changes — do not rely on the Service as your only copy of content you want to keep. This section will be removed when the Service exits beta.

2. Who can use the Service

The Service is for adults (18 or older) creating stories on behalf of children in their care. Children do not create accounts or interact with the Service directly. By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 18 years old, located in the United States, and have the authority to enter into these Terms.

3. Your account

You are responsible for the information you provide and for all activity under your account. Keep your password secure and notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. You may add profiles for children and family members; you are responsible for having the right to provide any information you enter about them.

4. Wishes, plans, and payments

• Stories are created using “wishes” (credits). New accounts receive free wishes; additional wishes are available through paid plans.
• Paid plans renew automatically for the period you select until cancelled. You can manage or cancel at any time from your billing settings.
• Except where required by law, wishes and fees are non-refundable and wishes have no cash value.
• When you purchase wishes, we make a charitable book donation on behalf of the company to a designated partner. This donation is made by us — you are not making the donation directly and are not entitled to a tax deduction. We retain full discretion over the program, including the amount, partner, and continuation.
• We may change pricing or plan features; we will provide notice of material changes before they take effect for you.

5. AI-generated content

All stories and illustrations are generated by artificial intelligence. Please keep the following in mind:

• AI-generated content is inherently unpredictable. Stories may occasionally be inaccurate, unexpected, nonsensical, or not to your taste — this is a characteristic of the technology, not a defect.
• We do not guarantee that generated content will be age-appropriate in every case. You are responsible for reviewing stories before sharing them with children.
• Stories and illustrations are delivered automatically. No human reviews every piece of generated content before it reaches you.
• All character illustrations are generated from text descriptions only. No photographs of children are used or stored. Illustrations are entirely synthetic and do not constitute realistic likenesses of real people.
• We use automated content filters to keep stories appropriate, but these are not perfect. Please report any concerning content to us.

6. Content and license

You retain ownership of the descriptions and story ideas you submit. For the AI-generated stories and illustrations the Service produces:

• You may read, print, and share stories for personal, non-commercial family use.
• You may not sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit generated stories.
• By generating stories through the Service, you grant My Genie Stories a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, adapt, and display generated story content for purposes including operating and improving the Service, training AI models, and marketing. We will not use your child’s name in public marketing without your separate consent. This license does not extend to child profile descriptions, which are used only to generate your stories.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Create content that is unlawful, harmful, hateful, sexually explicit, or that exploits or endangers children.
• Submit descriptions intended to produce depictions of identifiable real individuals without their consent.
• Upload information you do not have the right to use, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
• Resell or commercially exploit the Service or generated content without our permission.
• Use the Service if you are located outside the United States.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, branding, and mascots, is owned by My Genie Stories and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or branding except as needed to use the Service.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated content will meet your expectations. To the maximum extent permitted by law, My Genie Stories will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that could harm others or us. Our license to use generated content survives termination.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
